With this warm weather upon us, who doesn’t love an excuse to get a new watch that has water-resistant qualities? Naturally, when you think about waterproof watches, you may not picture something chic and glamorous. However, this doesn’t have to be the case. As surreal as it may sound, most luxury watches have water-resistant capabilities up to 100 meters (and sometimes even more)!

Since many of our Summer plans involve boating, sun-bathing on the beach, and cooling off in our pools, finding a stylish waterproof watch is more essential than you might think.

On that note, we’ve rounded up some of the best watches you can bring on all your tropical vacations this Summer without batting an eye.

Kings Jewelers | Breitling

If you don’t have a Breitling in your collection, this summer may be the perfect excuse to add one. Our friends at King Jewelers have the most gorgeous compact Superocean Automatic 36 that would make any outfit elevated, even if you are just sitting by the pool. The Superocean Automatic 36 is designed for women looking for a watch that combines versatility, performance, and style and is waterproof up to 200 meters)!

Barneys now offers a gorgeous line of repurposed Cartier and Rolex watches with new bands that truly revive these vintage gems. This Cartier 1970s Tank Watch simply exudes Summer and would be perfect for a stroll through the streets of Hamptons, or even your vacation home in 30A. This is the perfect piece for someone who loves just a hint of vintage mixed in their wardrobe.

Want to find a vintage watch locally? Williams Galleries (above etc. in Green Hills) carries vintage, fine jewelry that can be purchased, like this ’70s watch in 18k gold by Tiffany & Co. (second image in the gallery above). Give them a call at (615) 297-2547 to schedule an appointment to see what they currently have in their collection, or check out their Instagram for more information.

King Jewelers

While I love Tiffany and Cartier, I always find myself coming back to Chanel. Their iconic J12 watches (originally designed by the late Karl Lagerfeld) are water resistant up to 50 meters, and are perfect for any season. If you don’t already have one, King Jewelers has a stunning white edition complete with a diamond bezel and diamond dial. Truly a summer classic.

Don’t worry, if you want a watch that has a more sporty, yet classic aesthetic, Omega is the brand for you. Their Seamaster Diver collection ensures water-resistance up to 300 Meters and is meant for those very serious about their water sport endeavors. The best part? They offer this collection for men and women, so ladies get to shopping here, and men, this one’s for you.

Whether you opt for a Breitling or stay loyal to Chanel, just be certain that your new watch will be safe and sound on your wrist this Summer (though you may find yourself with a fun little tan line)! Get out there and enjoy the summer sun, and hey, maybe even lose track of time.
