Meet international fashion personality, Courtney Kivela Robinson.
COURTNEY’S DO’S AND DON’TS
Q: What should people invest in?
A: Great jeans- not only should the right pair fit well, but I believe they can make anyone feel confident. Shoes- especially for me. I tend to look at men’s shoes first-off upon formally meeting them (discreetly, of course).
Q: Favorite Party Look
A: Sequin jacket with thin-knit tank top, regular jeans or shiny black jeans, white Saint Laurent studded pumps OR a great velvet suit with fur-lined brocade Gucci slippers.
Q: Biggest fashion mistake you see on others
A: Too put together/ contrived, Visible panty lines, mothers in their 50’s dressing like their teenage daughters, revealing too much, wrong undergarments/ ill-fitting ones, the “X” threads that secure jacket vents- these should be snipped before ever putting the jacket on.
Q: Best online shopping websites
A: Farfetch, matchesfashion, net-a-porter, Moda Operandi, Mytheresa, shopstyle
Q: One thing that almost anyone can do to instantly improve their look
A: Great posture
Q: Style trend you hate/what you would never wear or style on someone
A: Cowl-necks: No matter how young or old you are, they are even older looking. Also, ordinary-looking clothes- everyone has a personality and they should show it.
Q: Favorite designers of the moment
A: Hedi Slimane for Celine, Isabel Marant, Saint Laurent, Gucci; Ganni, ba&sh, Raisa & Vanessa
Q: Favorite local shops and boutiques?

A: Trace skincare, Pure Sweat + Float Studio, Private Edition
Q: Best place for a date night
A: Dinner at the bar at Rolf & Daughters or O-Ku Sushi
Q: Unexpected hidden treasure
A: My daughters love to have picnics down by the river on the big grassy steps-probably because it’s near the most amazing old-school candy shop
Q: What is your go-to work uniform?
A: Usually all black! Jumpsuits, my very old silver Visvim men’s high-top sneakers from APC about a million years ago, or Golden Goose, Leather Crown; skinny jeans (usually charcoal or black) J. Brand, R13; blazers; printed tees
