Tanya Taylor. You may have come across her designs whilst shopping at Nordstrom, Saks 5th Avenue, and Bergdorf Goodman among other iconic luxury retailers, and you may be used to seeing her name alongside a plethora of other incredibly notable NYFW designers via the ‘RUNWAY’ header of Vogue.com. If you haven’t seen her pieces up close (and even if you have) you’re soon going to be able to see them walk an all too familiar runway and shop your favorites immediately. We’re talking about Nashville Fashion Week: Music City’s most fashionable string of days—and Tanya Taylor is a featured designer.

According to Tanya herself in an exclusive Edit interview, “the Tanya Taylor woman uses clothing to express herself, she is a woman on the go who is creative, curious, energetic, thoughtful and confident” and these qualities are mirrored in her strong, yet feminine designs. More than anything, what inspires Tayna are “women who follow their hearts and have the courage to be individuals.” Tanya tends to find a muse that falls under the category of “trailblazing women” in history and takes inspiration from what she learns about their surroundings, their accomplishments and, of course, what they wore. It doesn’t hurt the Big Apple is in Tanya’s backyard, either, serving as a constant source of inspiration throughout each fashion season.

Lucky for us Nashvillians, though, we get to feast our eyes on Tanya Taylor’s Spring/Summer 2020 collection during Nashville Fashion Week at OZ Arts Nashville. This show will mark her first time in Nashville and create a unique runway-to-retail experience for fashion connoisseurs to enjoy. If you’re wondering what to expect, this irresistible collection is filled with “energy and electricity” and is sure to be in the closets of everyone in attendance following her runway presentation. Tanya’s favorites? The Myers Trench Coat (she’s already wearing it with everything) and the Teigen dress in their hand-painted flamingo print that makes her smile.

As a brand that puts the Tanya Taylor woman “at the core of everything [they] do”, the consumer-focused direction in which the industry is headed in makes Tanya excited, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to see this collection in the flesh in the coming weeks. Her trunk show will be at Gus Mayer leading up to the show, and Tanya herself will make an appearance, no doubt.

UPDATE: Given the unprecedented circumstances at hand regarding COVID-19, Nashville Fashion Week has announced it will now take place August 4-8. So, while we may have to wait a bit longer to shop Tanya Taylor’s collection, it gives us something to look forward to coming out of these rather uncertain times.
