Everyone has their own opinions in regard to the most stylish season for fashion, but in my humble opinion, it’s the present (Fall/Winter). The layering opportunities lend themselves to a plethora of outfits and the ability to adjust to the climate you’re in (whether it be chilly outdoors or toasty indoors). Nevertheless, styling moments for this season are unparalleled, and I’m excited to share with you my top five picks from MODISTE for the chilly months ahead. The cherry on top? NYC-based designer, Maryam Nassir Zadeh seemed to make this coat just for Music City. The leather cuffs and buckle details feel right at home in Nashville, and the unique, but neutral, colorway makes this piece both a staple and statement wrapped up in one. I also love that this coat is gorgeously made right here in the USA, too. See the Ives Coat in action in one of our first MODISTE films here.
This little number can be worn with sheer cashmere tights (we’ve got some of those as well) and knee-high boots, or with a leather legging for a chillier day. We carry it in both black and grey to make sure it has a place in your closet forever,
Shearling can be seen in just about every facet of the fashion industry right now, from coats to shoes, to scarves, and, of course, bags. DeMellier is a brand out of London with a focus on designing pieces women will treasure for a lifetime, and the Los Angeles bag is no exception. It’s one of the brand’s newest silhouettes and has already been added to my personal collection. If this creamy shearling colorway isn’t for you, MODISTE also carries it in black, and two smooth leather colorways as well.
Every closet needs a perfect black leather boot, and if you think you’ve already checked this box, I’d recommend you give these a try. By Far has taken the fashion industry by storm for its high-quality leathers and refreshing designs, and this elevated take on a classic boot can find a home in any closet.
This jacket is a special one, because Helene Stahl Holm makes her pieces solely out of deadstock (or excess fabric), in an effort to reduce waste. She sources the bolts of fabric on her own and hand-makes each jacket in her Copenhagen-based atelier. The fact they’re made of deadstock fabric means once they’re out of stock, they’re gone for good, and MODISTE is lucky enough to have snapped up a few. Be quick!
Whether you opt for one of these picks, or something of your own choosing (perhaps you’ll snap up this stunning dress by Dorothee Schumacher as Nicole Kidman did), I hope you’ll love MODISTE almost as much as I do. Cheers!
