In our most recent print edition, we had the chance to get up close and personal with the incredibly stylish and talented Rachel Halvorson in her cozy design studio. Within just a few moments, it was clear that our small crew was intoxicated by the environment and ready to move right in. From the laid-back vibe to the unique art and furnishings, the space was intriguing and welcoming – just like the designer herself. In her well-chosen ensembles from H. Audrey, the petite blond radiated charm while sharing a wealth of expertise on all things décor. No wonder she’s one of the top choices for the biggest names in entertainment when it comes to creating stunning but livable interiors. You can read all about Rachel’s studio and see the photos by clicking here or take a tour of the home environment she curated with Karen Fairchild and Jimi Westbrook of Little Big Town here.
Luckily, she offered a bit of insight reflecting her signature style and eclectic taste by sharing a few of her favorite professional and personal favorites. So many things to love on her list…..
PAST TO PRESENT TREASURES
Heirlooms at the Table:
My grandmother’s silver flatware. I mix it with vintage silver finds. Instead of using it on special occasions, I use it every day. We also have a child’s rocking chair that was handed down from my husband’s family. The design is so simple and charming. My kids still sit in it!
Cozy Blanket Choice:
I love to collect vintage quilts. I throw them on the floor for picnics with my kids.
Art Love at Home:
My grandfather was a heart surgeon in Alabama, but his passion was photography. His black and white photographs are stunning. I like to frame them in vintage gold.
Vintage Shopping:
I like to scour Gaslamp Antiques in Berry Hill for unique and special one-of-a-kind things.
