Nashville is on its way to being the next food city, filling every corner with restaurants from globally recognized chefs, expansive wine lists, and most recently, high-end and premium chops. It seems that Steakhouses are the go-to destination for dinners looking to upgrade their normal night out. With so many to choose from, we’ve curated a list of some long-standing staples as well as new additions worth checking out.
Bob’s Steak & Chophouse
Whether it’s a special birthday, anniversary, or other celebration, Bob’s Steak & Chophouse has become a popular choice for discriminating diners seeking a romantic, upscale setting and menu. The Seared Ahi Tuna appetizer and entree are the latest addition to the already impressive menu. A specialty of Bob’s is the Australian Wagyu Tomahawk — the ultimate reward. It’s not found elsewhere and surrounded by the restaurant’s specialty sides, salads, and select wines make for a superlative, memorable meal.
Sperry’s Restaurant
Having opened its doors in Belle Meade in 1974, with a second location in 2006 in Cool Springs, Sperry’s has been a longtime staple in the Nashville Area. The restaurant has an Old English feel with a delicious mix of southern staples and steakhouse favorites. Focusing on premium, heavily marbled Western Beef as well house-made additions, you are guaranteed a one-of-a-kind experience. Another advantage to this key eating place is their Happy Hour Menu consisting of their famous Prime Rib Sliders (which usually sell out early!). Lastly, if you find yourself craving their legendary steaks and seasonings, you can head to Sperry’s Mercantile which sells all their signature items.
Kayne Prime
From the M Street Entertainment Group, a distinctive boutique steakhouse, Kayne Prime debuted itself in 2011. For the last 10 years, the restaurant has perfected its serving of specialty cuts of Japanese Wagyu. Priding themselves on their vast and impressive wine lists paired with their intimate seating, as well as their five private dining rooms, an unmatched experience is sure to keep you coming back again.
The Continental
One of the unique and original experiences in this area is chef Sean Brock’s newest endeavor with The Continental. Known for his expertise on southern fare, this change of pace where the motto is “Turning Fine Dining into Fun Dining”, does not disappoint. A dining experience that is elevated with tableside carvings of Prime Rib that extends all the way through dessert with a throw-back style ice cream cart that makes its way through the dining room. f you’re thinking that you’d love to indulge in an evening at The Continental (and why wouldn’t you?) we’d recommend grabbing a reservation ASAP. Like anything that Sean Brock does, this eatery is no different in its quick level of success, and the reservation waitlist says it all.
E3
Ordering beef here at E3 is much healthier and more sustainable than you will find in other high-profile steakhouses. They raise their own on the E3 Ranch – these are happy, grass-fed cows who get to roam on vast tracts of land without ever being shot up with antibiotics, chemicals, or enhanced feed. That puts their menu right up on the ‘approved’ list of our healthy eating stops like those on this list.
Jeff Ruby’s
Ranked one of the best steakhouses in the nation, Jeff Ruby’s has rightfully earned that reputation. Part of their unique offerings is live entertainment throughout the evening, giving guests more than their average night out. Serving up high-end, U.S.D.A. Prime Steaks exclusively cut for Jeff Ruby’s, Japanese A5 Wagyu, and Premium Handcrafted Filet Mignon alongside flawless service, your experience will be nothing less than five-star.
The River House
As one of the newer additions to downtown Nashville’s dining scene, the River House is making its way to becoming an essential eatery for both locals and visitors. From the BrickTop’s restaurant group, this destination is an upgraded and elevated dining concept. With an array of options for every palate, the menu boasts an impressive list of chops including a 6 oz Wagyu Filet Mignon and a tender, mouthwatering 10 oz Chateaubriand to name a few. With a room full of white-tablecloth-covered tables and a white marbled bar top surrounded by windows, looking onto the Schermerhorn Symphony Center, there is no bad seat, or meal, in the house.
